The celebrated cult author of four collections of short stories, a novella, and a book of essays is a past recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Genius grant and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Saunders’ work appears regularly in The New Yorker, GQ and Harper’s magazine and his pieces have appeared in numerous anthologies; his “Tenth of December” won both a Story and Folio Prize. In 2013, Saunders was named one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” by Time magazine. For the Cal Poly Arts engagement, Saunders will be discussing his new “Lincoln in the Bardo” best-selling novel and narrating a staged reading of excerpts from the book, performed by members of the Cal Poly English Department. The readings and discussion will be followed by a Q & A with the author.
If purchased, your George Saunders VIP ticket is an invitation to attend a meet and greet with the author before his presentation on September 30. Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres and a glass of wine with the author from 6:30-7:45pm in The Founders' Room, upstairs at the PAC. All proceeds benefit the Foundation for SLO County Public Libraries. Be sure to make your seat selection from those in the " VIP Author Reception Package Area"
